Animated time-lapse daguerreotype view of American soldiers of the Virginia Regiment and Webster's Battalion in a street in Saltillo, Mexico, taken by an unidentified photographer during the Mexican-American War, c. 1847. It seems that the camera was moved slightly between photos and as a result they do not line up very well.

Time-lapse view of a convoy of wagons bringing wounded soldiers to Brescia in the aftermath of the Battle of Solferino during the Second Italian War of Independence, 1859. The stereoscopic images were taken a short time apart, possibly around second, giving the image a slight amount of motion when animated.

The animations have slight variations in the positioning of the stereoview photographs on top of each other. The photographs to not seem to match up very well like other stereoviews in the series which might be a result of the time-lapse in their making.

Two views of American soldiers posing in a street in Saltillo during the Mexican-American War, c. 1847. They seem to have been taken from slightly different angles that allows them to be viewed in a slightly stereoscopic way. I have never seen these photographs connected in this way before online. By an unknown photographer.

A Wright aeroplane undergoing testing at Fort Myer, Virginia, c. 1908. The plane is possibly the Wright Military Flyer that was tested there and crashed at around this time. The man in the white shirt looks like Orville Wright but is not identified in the source.

French Soldiers Awaiting a German Assault?

French soldiers in trenches near Compiègne said to be awaiting a German attack but probably taken during training. The lack of any ground torn up by shell holes and the exposed position of the cameraman are good indications that this was taken during training. The closest that stereoscopic cameras seemed to have really come to photographing combat in World War I was capturing artillery shells exploding. Animated stereoview.
