Animated Time-Lapse Daguerreotype View of the Grave of Henry Clay, Jr. in Mexico During the Mexican-American War (1847)

 

 

Animated time-lapse daguerreotype view of the grave of Henry Clay, Jr. in Mexico taken by an unidentified photographer during the Mexican-American War, c. 1847. Lieutenant Colonel Clay was killed at the Battle of Buena Vista in February 1847. It is unclear which grave was his, why the crosses seemed to be switched around between photos and also why the camera was moved.
