View of Parsons West Jersey Hotel in Camden, New Jersey, c. 1850. The building was constructed 1849-1850, was eventually renamed the Hotel Ridgway during the early 1900s and seems to have finally been demolished during the 1950s. Taken by the Langenheim brothers and originally published as a salted paper print.

Occupational Photo of Three Farm Workers Posing With Scythes Said to Have Been Taken in the United States (1850's/1860's)

Occupational portrait of three farm workers posing with scythes in a field on a farm said to have been taken somewhere in the United States, c. 1855-1865. Another man is sitting in a wagon in the background. I think it is more likely that the men are British farm workers somewhere in Great Britain because of their outfits. Originally published as a stereoview.

Daguerreotype portrait of a group posing in front of Niagara Falls attributed to Thomas Easterly, c. 1850. A section from an 1838 poem about Niagara Falls by J. S. Buckingham is inscribed on the bottom of the plate and is signed in part "Easterly Daguerrean" at the end. The photo was possibly actually taken by photographer Platt D. Babbit, as he was known to take many photographs from this position during the 1850s.
